How to Make Your Own Wedding Invitations

For the budget-conscious, here are my guidelines to creating your own DIY wedding invitations. List of good websites where you can design your own invitations, and ideas for creating your own using Adobe Acrobat.

Wedding invitations can get very expensive, just like everything else in a wedding, invitations can be way overpriced for what you get. Many brides are opting to create their own invitations now to save money and have more control over the design and the timing of when they have their invitations available to them.

There are a couple of different options you have when creating your own invitations. Several websites online offer free templates for wedding invitations. You could go to these websites, find the design that you like the best, edit the template to your wedding and then print them either on your home computer, a library, a school or at a printing shop like Fedex/Kinkos. You could choose to print them on plain white paper or if you want something a little more fancy you could buy card stock and print them on normal card stock.

Here's a list of websites that offer really nice wedding invitation templates:

Just do a search online on any search engine and you will probably find even more templates to download for free! You can also go to a local store like Wal-Mart, Target, Staples, Kinko's and Office Max and find wedding stationary that you can buy at an inexpensive price and can print on your home computer or any printer you have access to.  You could print them at a library, school or Kinkos. Many of these stores have a couple of different styles of invitations to choose from and they are do it yourself. These are very easy to print on and many come with a test page, RSVP cards and envelopes. You can get a very good deal making your invitations this way as well.

Many of the invitations come as only 40 or 50 invitations in a box, so you only buy what you need. Another way to find a free wedding invitation template is to use the Adobe Reader software program and download free invitation templates. This program offers a free standard blank wedding invitation template or you can order a template with a design already made. Also, you can use Microsoft Word software program and create your own template in Word or search for wedding templates and download a free template from them. If you create a template in Word there is no limit, other than your imagination and knowledge of the program.

Creating your own invitations can save you time and money, especially if you have a small budget for your wedding or you are getting married quickly and have little time to plan. For the budget conscious making your own invitations is definitely the way to go, you can save money and make your invitation very personal as well.

Great ideas.

Making your own wedding invitations is easy, however you have to be creative enough to make it more attractive. You can also leave a simple message to make those people you are inviting to be inspired to attend to your wedding ceremony. Thank you for writing this informative article. Keep it up! Goodluck, voted and shared.

Personally, I would prefer making your own wedding invitations and other stuff such as wedding favors, centerpieces etc. because given a tight budget for example, cost-cutting is significant. On the other hand, if you have the money to let someone do it for you, or let the experts do their craft, that would be okay. But if you want to put a personal touch on them, you can always unleash your creativity and take care of this task.
